This FAQ section should answer most queries you have about SaxoFest. If you cannot find the answer you are looking for, please message us through our contact page.

Tickets

Do I need a ticket?2026-03-16T00:15:17+00:00

Daytime:
A ticket is not needed for the outside event on Sunnyside green from 12.30pm–5pm. This is free and open to the public.

Evening:
Guests will need a ticket to gain entry to the indoor evening event between 5.00pm–10.00pm.

When is the very latest I can buy a ticket for SaxoFest?2026-03-16T00:13:34+00:00

As long as tickets haven’t sold out, they will be available online until 5:00pm on the date of the event.

Can I get a ticket at the entrance?2026-03-16T00:12:40+00:00

All tickets must be purchased online in advance from: www.saxofest.co.uk/tickets.

Can I upgrade my tickets for the evening event?2026-03-16T00:12:07+00:00

All tickets should be purchased in advance and are available on a first come, first served basis.

We cannot offer or upgrade guests with standing tickets to seated tickets at a later date (including on the day). There are a limited number of seated tickets. Any seated tickets should be purchased online in advance.

As SaxoFest is a charity fundraising event, with all profits going directly to our chosen charities, we’re not able to offer concession tickets.

Where can I find my ticket?2026-03-15T23:17:18+00:00

Your ticket(s) would have been emailed to you from saxofest@buytickets.at, detailing your ticket type and QR code for entry. All ticket sales are managed by www.tickettailor.com.

To gain entry, simply print your ticket or show your ticket on your phone at Benson Village Hall entrance.

Please note, personal details, such as your address, may be used for verification on entry at the ticket stall.

I’ve bought tickets for a group but we’re all arriving at different times. What should we do?2026-03-16T00:20:00+00:00

Standing Tickets
An individual ticket is created for each guest with a unique barcode and number. Tickets are emailed to the person who made the booking. If members of your group plan to arrive at different times, make sure each person has their own ticket ready to scan on arrival.

Premium Seated Tickets
Premium seated bookings are issued as a single ticket covering the whole group. If members of your group arrive separately, you will need to meet outside and enter together. This is to ensure the group is allocated seats together.

If you’re arriving after an act has started, please be considerate for the performers and other guests.

All tickets are non-refundable. If you are unable to attend, you may pass your ticket on to someone else to use.

Daytime (12:30-5pm)

What time does the daytime part of SaxoFest start/end?2026-03-15T23:56:51+00:00

The outdoor part of SaxoFest runs from 12.30pm until 5.00pm, with live music from 1.00pm until 4.30pm. This is free and open to the public.

What entertainment is available at SaxoFest?2026-03-15T23:57:41+00:00

Family-friendly fun will be available on Sunnyside green throughout the day with free entry to live saxophone music, stalls, activities, and attractions.

Can I bring my own chair to use outside?2026-03-16T00:09:49+00:00

Yes. Feel free to bring folding chairs and blankets with you to make your experience outside more comfortable.

Please note that any chairs you bring are not permitted inside Benson Village Hall, before or during the ticketed evening event.

What are the rules regarding children at SaxoFest?2026-03-16T21:21:45+00:00

Children of all ages are welcome throughout the daytime.

Please note, from 4:30pm the indoor evening event is restricted to ages 13+.

The outdoor daytime event on Sunnyside green is free, unrestricted, and open to the public (no ticket required).

Evening (5-10pm)

What time does the evening part of SaxoFest start/end?2026-03-15T23:53:01+00:00

The ticketed evening event is from 5.00pm and finishes at 10.00pm. Please note that the venue needs to be vacated by 10.30pm.

We have three premium music acts for the evening event at SaxoFest; the Snake Davis Band, Redtenbacher’s Funkestra, and Hannah Horton.

From 4:30pm, the indoor evening event is restricted to ages 13+. All under 18’s must be accompanied by an adult.

All evening ticket holders will be issued with a wristband/stamp upon entry, allowing guests to leave and re-enter the venue as often as you like.

Food & Drink

Can I bring my own food?2026-03-15T23:50:21+00:00

You are welcome to bring your own food, but it is not permitted indoors. Please support our selection of local food vendors serving outside from 12.30pm–8.30pm.

Campfires and disposable barbecues are not permitted on site.

What food is available at SaxoFest?2026-03-31T00:47:52+01:00

There will be three local food vendors serving throughout the day, as well as a cake stand and a bar serving refreshments and snacks.

  • Sausage Bros offers bangers and mash with gravy, (gluten free and vegetarian options available).
  • Squires of Benson offers Mexican street food (vegetarian and vegan options available).
  • Sugar Catering offers ice creams and desserts.
Can I bring my own drinks or alcohol?2026-03-15T23:48:38+00:00

Due to licensing restrictions, guests should not bring their own alcohol on site.

Alcoholic drinks, soft drinks, and water will be available from the bar throughout the event. Drinks should not be brought inside except those purchased at SaxoFest.

Tap water will be readily available if anyone wants to bring and refill a water bottle. Bottled water will also be for sale on site.

There will be a bar serving drinks throughout the day. Last orders will be at 9:30pm.

No glass is allowed on site, outside or indoors. Plastic cups will be available.

Travel & Parking

Where is SaxoFest?2026-03-22T23:46:30+00:00

SaxoFest is taking place at Benson Village Hall and the neighbouring ‘Sunnyside’ green (appears as ‘Faye Elizabeth Recreation Ground’ on Google maps) in South Oxfordshire.

Whilst there is parking available directly outside Benson Village Hall, this will be reserved for staff, artists and blue badge holders.

Free parking will be available on the green from 12 noon, where parking marshals will provide directions on site.

If parking on neighbouring residential roads, please be courteous to our neighbours.

Please note that parking is limited, so we encourage as many attendees to take public transport where possible.

How do I get to SaxoFest?2026-03-15T23:43:23+00:00

By Car:
For visitors arriving by car, you can get to Benson Village Hall via the A329 through Warborough, A4074 through Preston Cromarsh or the B4009 through Britwell Salome. Carry on down Sunnyside where parking marshalls will guide you.

By Train:
For anyone arriving by train, the closest station is Cholsey, which runs regular services to Paddington, Reading and Oxford. As it’s over 5 miles from the venue, anyone alighting here should book a taxi or an Uber to finish their journey.

Alternatively, regular bus services run from Didcot Parkway Station to Benson (via Wallingford), including the X2, X32 and 33 (26 minute journey).

By Bus:
For anyone travelling by bus, the X40 goes directly to Benson from Oxford City Centre (27 minute journey). The X39 and X40 also travel from Reading (1 hour journey). Alternatively, the 33 is available from Henley (31 minute journey).

SaxoFest is a cashless event in order to offer a seamless service throughout the day. All our stall holders, vendors and the bar accept all major credit cards, as well as Apple Pay and Google Pay.

Should I wear earplugs to protect my ears?2026-03-15T23:31:15+00:00

Live music is frequently at loud volumes so we encourage attendees to bring their own earplugs, especially for children. Free disposable earplugs will be available upon request at the bar and outdoor stage.

A sound technician will be monitoring noise levels throughout the day to make sure we are below the legal limit.

All smoking and vaping should be kept outside. There are designated smoking bins outside the venue. Please be considerate to non-smoking guests.

What access and facilities are available for disabled visitors?2026-04-02T01:28:55+01:00

Benson Village Hall has step-free access and includes a disabled toilet located near the main entrance. Disabled parking is available outside the venue.

If you require a parking space, please contact us in advance so we can ensure availability and make suitable arrangements for your visit.

There will be a designated first aid stand, which will double up as a muster point for children lost and found.

Feel free to bring your pets to the outside event.

Please note that only guide dogs will be allowed indoors.

This is a one-day festival so there is no camping on site. As it is a public space, you are not permitted to pitch on the green.

All profits from this event will be donated to two charities who are doing incredible life-changing work in the local community: Younger People with Dementia and The Music Club.

Who Are Sax Bandits?2026-04-03T15:38:46+01:00

Sax Bandits is the organiser of SaxoFest. They are an all-saxophone band for adult learners of all abilities, with around 250 members meeting across five counties. The band will be coming together to perform a 30-minute set at SaxoFest during the daytime.

This event coincides with Sax Bandits’ 10th anniversary celebrations. You can find out more about the band at www.saxbandits.uk.
